Greater Manchester has new transport interchanges at Wythenshawe, Altrincham and Rochdale, with developments also taking place at Bolton.
The interchanges are being built in partnership with local authorities to complement the wider town centre regeneration plans.
Interchanges bring together a number of different public transport options to make it easier for passengers to change from one mode to another. This provides an integrated transport solution across the city region and is key to employment and growth.
The new interchanges are lighter, brighter, and safer and provide attractive passenger gateways.
Plans are also being developed to provide improved interchanges at Wigan, Tameside and Stockport. We will provide updates about those plans here. The planned interchanges form part of the wider Greater Manchester Local Growth Deal Programme, which is being funded by central government and local contributions.
